THE EIGHT-YEAR-OLD DESIGNER BRINGING THE FUTURE TO THE RUNWAY
Beyond
Radim’s debut collection, BEYOND, is not just about fashion. It is about imagination, technology, and the belief that the future belongs to those brave enough to dream it first.
“I actually started designing by accident,” Radim laughs.
“One day in art class, I splashed paint all over my jeans. Instead of ruining them, it made them look really cool. That’s when I thought — what if school clothes could look like that too?”
That spontaneous moment quickly turned into sketches. Within just a few months, the young designer created a full collection together with a professional designer who helped bring his ideas to life.
But the inspiration behind the clothes runs much deeper.
“I spend a lot of time with older boys — my brothers and friends from sports clubs. We talk about technology, games, and the future. I dream of becoming an inventor one day.
So when I created the collection, I knew it had to reflect my vision of the future.”
A MESSAGE TO TEENAGE BOYS
What do you want teenage boys to feel when they wear your clothes?
“When I think about fashion, I see its meaning beyond comfort, style, trends, shopping, or media.
I want it to express something deeper — who you are, what fills you, and what you want to leave on the endless canvas of the universe.
When teenagers choose my brand, they silently say something like:
‘I belong here.’
‘We share the same ideas.’
‘I believe in this direction.’
Almost like they are part of a secret team.
I want my clothing to be not just about style — but about people with a mission.
My clothes are for those who are obsessed with their dreams.
For those who know what they want.
For those who believe in themselves even when others don’t.
Don’t try to be like everyone else.
Be yourself.
Create. Invent. Dream.
And maybe my clothes will help show the world just how awesome you are.”
Radim designed the collection specifically for teenage boys — a generation he believes deserves more daring fashion.
“Teenagers want clothes that show who they are, not something that looks like everyone else’s,” he explains.
His pieces feature bold accents and futuristic details: hoodies with attached balaclavas revealing alien eyes, coats printed with green humanoid figures, and one unexpected orange silhouette — a symbol of individuality.
“I love bright colors like neon green and orange,” Radim says.
The collection’s name, BEYOND, reflects a philosophy rather than a style.
“I want to create clothes that remind us that children and teenagers are the ones who will create the future,” he says.
Some of Radim’s ideas already reach far into technological territory. He dreams of jackets and bags with LED eyes that blink and show emotions, clothing that integrates robotics, and fashion that makes the wearer feel almost superhuman.
“When you wear something like that,” he says, “it should feel like you’re already living in the future.”
“When the music started and the models walked out, I got goosebumps,” Radim recalls.
“Before that, everything felt like something I could control — sketches, fittings, rehearsals. But when the show started, it felt like the collection had its own life.”
The audience’s reaction confirmed it.
People approached him after the show, asked for photos, and congratulated him. Even days later strangers recognized him and stopped to say hello.
“For a while, it felt like I was flying,” he says.
Radim already has ambitious plans for the future. His next collection will be unisex, and his family is exploring the possibility of producing it on a larger scale.
“We might travel to China to find a factory,” he says with excitement. “I’ve never been there before.”
But for Radim, fashion will always be more than clothing.
