SASHA SOLANA WALTON –
First Plus-Size Designer
By Emirates Fashion Week Magazine
“I wanted plus-size and curvy women to look and feel beautifully luxurious.”
This simple intention became the heartbeat of House of Solana — a brand redefining what elegance means for every body. Born from a desire to create what she never saw in stores, the designer turned frustration into freedom, and freedom into fashion.
Studying Apparel Product Development at Mount Mary University, she began sketching for herself — designing the stylish, flattering silhouettes that the industry ignored. Today, House of Solana stands as a global voice for inclusivity, craftsmanship, and confidence.
“I didn’t always have the choices for cute ready-to-wear fashion — so I built them myself.”
BREAKING BOUNDARIES
Her rise began with a historic moment — Paris Fashion Week 2020, where she became the first plus-size designer to present with Fashion Week Studio. Then came African Fashion Week London 2023 — and a standing ovation for real curves, real women, real fashion.
“It was a breakthrough — people finally saw that plus-size can be elegant.”
DESIGN WITH INTENTION
“Every curve deserves intention.” For Solana, design is not about covering — it’s about celebrating. Each line, seam, and texture is crafted to sculpt and empower. She rejects droopy fits and shapeless drapes, favoring structure, movement, and sensuality.
“Details are my love language — they show the care I have for my clients.”
Her style blends architectural tailoring with soft femininity — corsetry, draped silks, intricate embellishments — balancing bold aesthetics with comfort. Trends are reinterpreted for real forms, proving that fit is the ultimate luxury.
SUSTAINABILITY MEETS CONSCIOUS DESIGN
Behind every collection lies a quiet revolution in ethics. Solana sources natural, breathable fabrics — recycled denim, glass beading, full cotton — with an eye toward longevity.
“Sustainability isn’t a trend for me. It’s a promise — to create fashion that lasts.”
INCLUSIVITY AS A PHILOSOPHY
Inclusivity for Solana extends far beyond size — it embraces every skin…
…tone, height, and texture. Her campaigns feature models with natural hair, unretouched beauty, and unapologetic individuality.
“The standard of beauty has been washed. Real people are the real runway.”
GLOBAL REACH, UNIVERSAL MESSAGE
From the USA to the Middle East and Europe, House of Solana is reshaping the conversation around body and beauty. Each show is more than a presentation — it’s a statement: style belongs to everyone.
“People used to think plus-size women couldn’t dress elegantly. I’m here to change that perception.”
THE FUTURE OF SOLANA
With new lines on the horizon — Solana Couture, Solana Jeans, Solana Beauté — and ventures into bridal, athleisure, and virtual design, the brand’s vision expands across the globe.
“Every woman deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and beautifully dressed — not despite her size, but because of it.”
